Psalms 52:8-9

But I am like a green olive tree

in the house of God.

I trust in the steadfast love of God

forever and ever.

I will thank you forever,

because of what you have done.

In the presence of the faithful

I will proclaim your name, for it is good.

Wrestling with injustice and oppression

the Psalmist always found a way 

back to trust

in the steadfast love of God.

Patience and resilience,

waiting out the ravages of life

voicing grief and desolation

but returning

to the One

in whom 

all things are made whole

through whom

love and justice meet.

Prayer

God of wholeness, when life conspires to convince us otherwise, remind us of your love and your power. Give us patience and perseverance to wait on your time and to know that your justice prevails.
